I qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ London in 2005. I completed my training position with the Community dental service in West Sussex before moving to the Community Dental service in Hinchingbrooke Hospital. During my 10 years in this service I treated a wide range of medically compromised patients, with many disabilities and additional needs. I built some wonderful relationships with many extremely anxious patients. A lot of the time building trust and using calming techniques, but having the aid of sedation or general anaesthetic when needed. After completing my PGCE, Post graduate certificate in dental education, I became a trainer for newly qualified dentists.
In 2016 I left the Community Dental service to broaden my dental skills and joined a primarily Private dental practice. In 2017 I completed the year long Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry course with the renowned Chris Orr and also Invisalign training to become an accredited Invisalign provider. I really enjoy not only changing smiles, but changing smiles for patients who prior to meeting me were too scared to sit in a dental chair. I love listening to peoples’ stories, finding out how we can make their experience more positive and implementing these steps so patients can leave smiling.
Outside of dentistry I love being active with my 2 boys. I love being by the sea, taking long walks, cycle rides and camping. As a family protecting the environment and the oceans is something we all feel strongly about and so we will be implementing as many sustainable systems as we can at Godmanchester Dental.
I qualified from University of Sheffield with a dental degree (BDS) in 2011. I completed two years foundation training in general practice and in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department at Addenbrookes. I gained postgraduate qualifications for Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties and completed a year course in dental implantology. I have been working in a mainly private practice for the last 7 years, although I am currently enjoying some time off on maternity leave with my daughter, Lois. What I love most about my job is the variety, I get to use problem solving skills, creativity and attention to detail whilst talking to different people everyday. I’m looking forward to getting to know our new patients and becoming part of the community of Godmanchester.
When I’m not at work I love to keep active and I always have a project on the go. I get great satisfaction learning new skills and seeing the final result of what I have done or made myself. This could be sewing, painting, gardening or currently DIY at Godmanchester Dental where we are demolishing and removing the old house parts, ready to start renovations soon.
