I qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ London in 2005. I completed my training position with the Community Dental Service in West Sussex before moving to the Community Dental Service in Hinchingbrooke Hospital. During my 10 years in this service I treated a wide range of medically compromised patients, with many disabilities and additional needs. I built some wonderful relationships with many extremely anxious patients. A lot of the time building trust and using calming techniques, but having the aid of sedation or general anaesthetic when needed. After completing my PGCE, Post Graduate Certificate in dental Education, I became a trainer for newly qualified dentists.
In 2016 I left the Community Dental Service to broaden my dental skills and joined a primarily private dental practice. In 2017 I completed the year long Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry course with the renowned Chris Orr and also Invisalign training to become an accredited Invisalign provider. I really enjoy not only changing smiles, but changing smiles for patients who prior to meeting me were too scared to sit in a dental chair. I love listening to peoples’ stories, finding out how we can make their experience more positive and implementing these steps so patients can leave smiling.
Outside of dentistry I enjoy being active with my 2 boys. I love being by the sea, taking long walks, cycle rides and camping. As a family protecting the environment and the oceans is something we all feel strongly about and so we will be implementing as many sustainable systems as we can at Godmanchester Dental.
I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2011. I then completed two years of Foundation Training in general practice and as a Senior House Officer in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department at Addenbrookes Hospital. I achieved my Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties in 2013 and then studied a one year course in Dental Implantology in Cambridge.
I have been working in private practice since 2013, where I have been able to develop my clinical skills, build relationships with my patients and regularly undertake courses to keep up to date with the latest developments in dentistry.
I have a keen interest in all aspects of dentistry, but my particular passion is in oral surgery, preventative dentistry and minimally invasive dentistry. I always strive to provide the highest quality of care for my patients.
I have a very open and welcoming approach to my patients. I have a calm manner which helps to maintain a relaxed atmosphere in our practice. I believe it is important to spend time listening to and understanding the concerns of my patients. I take great pride in being able to achieve a comfortable environment for anxious patients.
When I’m not at work I love to keep active working with my hands and I always have an arts and crafts project or two on the go. I get great satisfaction from learning new skills and seeing the final result of what I have done or made myself. This could be making clothes, cards, artwork or building something for my daughters to play with.
